Heat Pressing Tips

Heat Pressing.

How to get the most out of your transfers.

Here are some useful tips for heat pressing DTF transfers:

  1. Prepare Your Surface: Ensure your heat press surface is clean and your garment is flat and free of wrinkles or moisture. Pre-press the fabric for 2-3 seconds to remove any moisture.
  2. Set the Right Temperature: Our DTF transfers require 150°C, make sure to heat you press to the required temperature
  3. Apply Proper Pressure: Use medium to firm pressure for 15 seconds to ensure the transfer adheres evenly across the entire design. Adjust the pressure based on the thickness of the garment.
  4. Peel Correctly: Wait for the transfer to cool fully (cold peel) before removing the film. Pull gently to avoid lifting any part of the design.
  5. Repress if Needed: After peeling, cover the design with parchment or a finishing sheet and repress for 5–10 seconds for enhanced durability and a smoother finish.
  6. Test First: Always do a test press on a sample or scrap fabric to ensure the settings work perfectly with your transfer and garment.

Following these steps will give you vibrant, long-lasting results every time!

Tips and Tricks

  • Store Transfers Properly: Keep your DTF transfers in a cool, dry place to prevent damage to the adhesive or film before pressing.
  • Use a Pressing Pillow: For garments with seams, zippers, or buttons, use a pressing pillow to create an even surface and avoid uneven pressure.
  • Experiment with Effects: Use finishing sheets like matte or glossy parchment to adjust the final look of your design—glossy for shine, matte for a subdued finish.
  • Test Your Heat Press: Heat presses can vary, so use a temperature gun to verify the actual heat matches your settings. This ensures even and accurate pressing.
